[ Some people sleep at this hour, you know. He's up pretty quickly, though, when he hears Rue's voice because it makes him think of Katniss and her nightmares and, well, omg something might be wrong with Rue ]

[There definitely is something wrong with Rue; there's no one around to share her idea with! It can't wait until morning, okay.]

Someone on the bracelet asked why we don't just paint the city for color. Why don't we? Look, I got paint! [She bounces on her bed, then shows him the numerous containers of paint she's obtained in the few hours you haven't seen her.]

[ Not that Peeta minds this or anything, but when did he and Rue become BFFs? ...did he miss something? Were those clothes like their friendship bracelet or something? ]

Well, I'm not sure we can just paint the... [ Buuuut he trails off there and his face lights up when she shows him the paint ] Where did you get all that?

[You got the official stamp of approval when you let her dress you, that's what. But we can do friendship bracelets, too.]

There's a store in Freyr with a bunch of paint and colored pencils. They don't all have their color back yet, but I found some that do!

[ Would the friendship bracelets be super brightly colored too? They probably would be, right? ]

Really? You'll have to show me where it is sometime.

Anyway, what do you mean by paint the city?

[They would be bright green and yellow. You're in luck: they're not neon.]

I'll take you there! [She grins at him.] I mean painting. Using the paint to color all the gray areas.

We can decide where to start while we're walking to the store.

Wait. Wouldn't it make more sense and take less time to maybe paint things to put around the city or something, instead of painting the city?

What do you paint?

[ Well this is certainly... random ] Whatever I feel like painting at the time. What I see in front of me. Memories. So anything, really.

[ Random can be good ] Has being here changed it?

Since getting here, it's been a little less of what I see and more of what I remember. But otherwise, not really, no.

So what do you paint?

I paint things from home. Birds that they don't have around here, mockingjays. Flowers. People I once knew.

What makes you so interested?

I don't know. It sounded important the other day. [ And she's kind of bored and wants to know what people do because... hobbies, need ]
